May is National Skin Cancer Awareness Month. On the eve of summer, the American Cancer Society calls our attention to the importance of understanding, preventing, diagnosing, and treating this all-too-common disease. As we do every year, our office is participating in this very important, life-saving awareness program.
Between May 1 and May 15, we will offer a complimentary skin cancer screening for new and existing patients without insurance. In our Santa Monica office, Dr. Van Dyke, Dr. Simzar, and our physician assistants Rene and Lisa will be performing these free screenings during the first two weeks of May only, so please call to schedule an appointment if you qualify. In Beverly Hills these screenings will be conducted by Dr. Van Dyke and nurse practitioner Christine Nell. And spread the awareness by telling your friends about this offer!
As part of our year-round efforts to keep you informed about your skin health, we remind you that:
- Skin cancer—both melanoma and non-melanoma types—remains a major health concern in the United States.
