Ask Dr. Ava
Question: My lips are on the thinner side, and as I've gotten older, this is only becoming more pronounced. I've always wanted a fuller, plumper mouth, but I've seen people walking around with ‘duck lips,’ and I am so scared of this happening to me! Is there a procedure you can recommend that would round out my lips, but still keep them natural-looking?
Answer: At Ava MD, we never let anyone leave our offices looking ‘done.’ We unequivocally believe any cosmetic procedure or treatment should enhance a patient's inherent beauty, and will not perform any procedure that might produce ‘unnatural’ results. In keeping with this philosophy, for some time, we've been using fillers such as Juvederm® and Restylane® ‘off label’ to fill out lips with great, natural-looking results. We're happy to report the FDA recently approved this usage for Restylane, further affirming the direction we've been taking in our practice with such success for some time.
