Exceptions to this are AVA MD Eye Site, Sun Security SPF 25 and lip balm which you can apply as you wish. |

| Why must I use a sunblock for the duration of the program and beyond? Because new, freshly-exfoliated skin is more photosensitive (that is, more prone to sun damage), it needs to be protected with an SPF 25 or above such as Sun Security™ SPF 25 Sunscreen Lotion. |
| May I use makeup during my two weeks with RADICAL DEPARTURE? Foundations and other cosmetics are acceptable as long as they don’t cause discomfort and do not contain treatment ingredients (e.g. retinol, glycolic acid, etc.) |
| What happens if I do experience some sensitivity during RADICAL DEPARTURE? It is highly unusual that RADICAL DEPARTURE will cause sensitivity but in the rare event this occurs, just use the Orange Calendula Wash and Anti-Oxidant Mist twice daily as directed and skip the AHA + BHA Lotion and the Retinoid Serum steps for a day or two. |
| Is a patch test necessary before using RADICAL DEPARTURE? If you have easily irritated skin with known sensitivity to Alpha Hydroxy Acid or Retinoic Acid do a patch test. Apply AHA+BHA Lotion to a small area on the inside of one forearm and Retinoid Serum on inside of the other. If irritation occurs within 24 hours, discontinue use. |
